7 If I Were the President™   See details and comment
If I Were the President™ is a new media channel that attempts to use ICT to engage South Africans in community dialogue towards social change. This is a rare bottom-up but fascinating 'message board' that coverges the community through the use of traditional communication channels like the print, radio and telephone as well as the 'new' technology of the Internet "to get involved and make suggestions - any suggestions, so long as they are practical and constructive - to improve our [South Africa] nation". Contributors are challenged to "move beyond complaints" to say what they would do if they had the responsibility to lead the South Africa nation. Quite innovative.
